Transcription:

• New - Turn audio bookmarks into text, fully on your device (Settings > Advanced > Transcription).

Reading:

• New - Auto scroll: the next page rolls down over the current one, so the text never moves.
• New - Share a highlight or bookmark note as a quote card over the book cover.
• New - E-ink mode: flat, monochrome, no animations - great on a Boox Palma.
• New - Tap a highlight to recolor, note, share, or jump to it in the audiobook, and see every book's highlights in All Bookmarks.
• Improved - Reading uses less battery, big ebooks open faster.

Playback:

• New - Progress from other devices catches up automatically, and the paused player follows along.
• New - Sync to the server every 20 seconds instead of every minute.
• New - Jump to a session's start or end from its details.
• Fix - Headset play starts right away, and the widget and Android Auto no longer start or pause playback on their own.

iOS:

• New - Lock screen controls use your own skip amounts.
• Improved - Bluetooth controls are much more reliable.

A note on AI: Absorb is developed by a human with AI assistance (mostly Claude Code) helping write, refactor, and review code. It's not "vibe coded" or auto-generated, every change is reviewed, tested, and shipped intentionally. That said, I'm all in on AI as a development tool. It massively speeds up the work and lets a solo developer ship features and fixes at a pace that wouldn't be possible otherwise. I'm sharing this openly so you know what's behind the app.
